Actress Swastika Mukherjee is a heady combo of beauty and brains. She is one of the most accomplished Bengali actresses with films like Bhooter Bhabishyat and the recent superhit Dil Bechara and web series Paatal Lok under her belt. Blessed with stunning good looks, Swastika also has a strong personality and is never afraid to speak the truth, be it on social media or in newspaper interviews.
Apart from her personality and acting acumen her light eyes, sharp features and flawless skin are often the talking point among her fans.
Being an actress Swastika Mukherjee is perpetually using heavy make-up and working under glaring studio lights, yet she has maintained her skin so well that she can happily flaunt the no make-up look whenever she wants. What’s the secret of her beautiful skin? The actress spills it.
The actress uses sandalwood regularly to remove tan and keep her skin spotless and glowing. She doesn’t feel the need to use expensive beauty products from big brands to maintain her beautiful skin. Applying sandalwood also helps keep acne and blemishes at bay.
She admits that she uses some beauty products sometimes but to take care of her skin on a daily basis she relies on sandalwood. Something that’s easily accessible in her home.
She ensures she uses the sandalwood in its purest form by extracting it directly from the wood by rubbing it on the stone. She doesn’t go for the easy-to-make powders available in the market.
Her busy schedule does not allow her to devote a lot of time to her daily skin regimen. But she ensures she goes through the whole process of cleansing and toning every day.
She uses a good quality cleanser to remove the dirt and grime from the skin and then uses a toner. Rose water is what suits her best for toning.
It was her mother who introduced her to multani mitti when she was a teen and since then she has stuck to using a multani mitti or fuller’s earth pack twice a week.
She makes the pack at home by blending rose water with multani mitti.
Her late mother used to tell her that applying the cream of the milk, the higher fat layer skimmed from the top, makes skin soft.
So, Swastika now puts the milk cream in the fridge and then applies it on the face. She leaves it on for 15 minutes then gently rubs it off. Her face becomes smooth and supple after that.
Sometimes after a hard day at work or after attending a late-night event, we tend to come home and sleep off without removing make-up. Swastika Mukherjee says that is the worst thing you could do to your skin.
Eye and face makeup left on the skin overnight clogs up the pores and leads to a breakout. It starts drying up the skin from the inside and the pH balance of the skin goes haywire.
No matter what, removing make-up every single day or at night is a must. Otherwise the skin starts looking dull.
The actress believes a healthy skin can only be maintained if it is kept hydrated. So having lots of water throughout the day is a must. It also removes the toxins from the body.
She recommends having fruit juices that would help you load up on Vitamin C and provide the minerals needed for healthy skin. She includes a variety of juices in her diet.
The actress says that if you have to have good skin you have to maintain gut health. Apart from having fruit juices, she has fruits too all through the day. Fruits are good for cleansing the gut.
She avoids having oily food or too much carbohydrate like wheat and rice. But that does not mean she doesn’t have carbohydrates, she has everything in balanced amounts.

This is something Swastika maintains regularly. She goes to bed early. She says that not having enough sleep starts showing on the skin.
The beautiful actress says that the best thing about having great skin is you don’t have to worry if you forget the lipstick or eyeliner in your purse. You can just go out without make-up and feel beautiful in your own skin.
And going by her simple beauty regimen you can also get skin like her by using natural home ingredients.
