LYF Water 5 Vs Redmi Note 3 Vs LeEco Le 1s Vs Oppo Neo 7 User Reviews and Ratings.

All these smartphones: Lyf Water 5, Redmi Note 3, the LeEco Le 1s and Oppo Neo 7 have been in the market for quite a while now. Let’s compare these four devices as per what existing users of these buyers feel post purchase.

LYF Water 5:

While few users on Amazon labelled the Water 5 as “an awesome phone,” most of the users termed it as a mediocre phone with a high price tag. “Low specifications Premium price,” — a comment made by the Amazon user (Vishal Biyani).

Editor: Do note that this comment was made when the Lyf Water 5 was priced at Rs.11,000+. It is currently retailing on Amazon for Rs.7599 – 8400. 

Another Amazon user Kishore commented that “specifications are good but in a market of today that doesn’t fit.” What he is trying to tell is that in a market which is dominated by many Chinese smartphone manufacturers offering impressive specifications at a very decent price, the Water 5 looks so obsolete. According to the 27 Amazon user ratings, the LYF Water 5 manages to score 2.7 out of five stars (average).

Redmi Note 3:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 released with pretty decent specifications and most importantly it has been priced well. It gained a lot of positive response from the normal users as well as the industry experts.

One Amazon user termed the Note 3 as “simply the beast of smartphones,” and added that the Note 3 is bang for the buck. However, he later states that the camera performance of the phone is disappointing.

Few other users also emphasised the same issue. On the other hand, some users complained about the long charge time it takes because of the lack of the Quick Charge support.

However, most of the users shared a positive opinion about the phone. Few of the comments are as follows: “Dream device comes with an affordable price tag,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Great design, beautiful display and stellar performance. Bit disappointed with the packaging.”  The Redmi Note 3 scores 3.9 out of five stars (average) based on 3,092 Amazon user ratings.

LeEco Le 1S:

After the LeEco’s foray into the country, the company took no time gain attention. In fact, the LeEco Le 1S became one of the best-selling smartphones in India in the budget segment.

Based on 12,084 Flipkart user ratings, the Le 1S scores 3.7 out of five stars (average).

However, the phone received mixed reviews from users. While few users claimed that the Le 1S is a premium looking value for money device, others wasted no time in labelling it as a not-recommended phone.

Major grouse among most of the users is the issue regarding battery and camera. Few of the user comments read as follows: “Excellent hardware and software. No company support,” “Good phone but very poor battery and horrible camera,” “Worst camera quality not recommended,” “Excellent phone from LeTv,” “Le 1S is a heat broiler….do not buy it for camera performance,” “pathetic performer with gorgeous looks.”

Oppo Neo 7:

Let us first talk about the pros of the Neo 7 and then get back to the cons. According to both Amazon and Flipkart users, the camera performance on the Oppo Neo 7 is worth appreciating.

Also, the premium build quality of the phone is another noteworthy feature. That said, a major complaint among most of the users is its 1GB of RAM. At this price point, 1GB of RAM feels obsolete.

Few others also pointed out the lack of a good display. They said that addition of Full-HD display would have been very good.

Few comments on the Oppo Neo 7: “very nice phone excellent camera,” “Apple little brother,” “very good product,” “ Oppo Neo 7 awesome mobile,” “OK OK…. only,” “RAM is lacking.” Based on Amazon and Flipkart user ratings, the Oppo Neo managed to score 3.8 out of five stars.

 Verdict: 

All the four smartphones fall under similar price range and clearly, from the above user reviews and ratings, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes across as the clear winner. It is still not available in the open market, but, once you register for the flash sale on Amazon, you should be able to buy the phone within the next 7-10 days.

While the 16GB variant is fairly good, we recommend the 32GB version only if you can stretch your budget by a couple of grands. The Oppo Neo 7 also comes across as a good device. It is a good alternative, in case you don’t want to buy the Redmi Note 3.
